WELCOME TO THE CONFERENCE ON BRITISH AND AMERICAN STUDIES

An academic event organized in collaboration with the ROMANIAN SOCIETY FOR ENGLISH AND AMERICAN STUDIES (RSEAS)

Originally hosted by the former Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, this event was first organized in 2003. Starting out as a national symposium on English language and English and American literature, this annual event has gradually broadened its scope by including more areas of scholarly interest and by bringing together researchers in and outside Romania, which has helped create the frame for lasting collaborations.

In its current format, the Conference on British and American Studies is a forum where senior and junior researchers from different universities present their work and exchange ideas, keeping current with the latest developments in the vast areas of macro- and microlinguistics, whilst also contributing to the growth and continued updating of these fields.

Over the years, we have been able to welcome participants from many universities around Romania. We have equally enjoyed the opportunity to meet with fellow academics from different countries on different continents. All of their contributions have been reviewed and selections of papers have been published in collective volumes.

On behalf of the organizers and the members of the editing board, I would like to express our appreciation for the efforts and good will of those who have contributed (cognitively or otherwise) to the success of these events.
